Get Your Training Zones Right!
The cornerstone of any successful half Ironman training plan is the understanding and application of metabolic testing. By determining your specific training zones, you can optimize your workouts to boost race performance while simultaneously reducing the risk of overtraining. These zones become the framework upon which your entire training structure is built, allowing for more efficient training, improved race pacing, and progress tracking. This precision ensures that each session is not only effective but also aligns with your body’s unique needs.
Key Workouts
We discuss key workouts for swim, bike and run, including types of tests, and specific workouts to incorporate into your training for the specific pacing challenges of half ironman. To complement these sessions, we encourage strength and mobility exercises to foster durability and reduce the likelihood of injury. We also talk about bricks (specific types as well as how often to do them).
