From Bodybuilding to Cycling
It’s been an honor to work with Kat over the past few years. The first time we met, she was in tears. Now, she’s a confident, lean and strong cyclist with a fiercely competitive yet positive and energetic spirit. Here’s her story:
What made you look for The Endurance Edge services? What were you trying to accomplish from the start?
I originally came to EE for help with my nutritional needs as an athlete with an endocrine disorder. As I got that dialed in and on track, I decided to stay on for coaching as well given that I felt I had hit a plateau with my training and wasn’t sure how to get over that hump on my own.
Did you hit any roadblocks during the process of working with us? If so, how did that change your approach, mindset or goals?
I certainly found that trying to change my body composition while in the thick of racing season was tough. At that point, I decided to take one thing at a time, which was much more sane. It’s been helpful to have support along the way and know that it’s okay to tackle one thing at a time.
What was the best part of your experience with The Endurance Edge?
Chris has been incredibly supportive. She’s knowledgeable and provides great structure in addition to providing encouragement. I love the one on one contact and knowing I can always touch base with questions or concerns.
What are some of the lessons or concepts that stuck with you most?
Chris has definitely helped me dial it back more. Historically, I’ve often struggled with overtraining, it’s been helpful having Chris to reign me in. It’s also been nice to shed some of my old fears and rules about food/food groups that were erroneous but ingrained (fat is bad, carbs are bad, etc).
What would you like to accomplish next?
I’m looking forward to building my base and starting next road season off stronger and really looking forward to more gravel races!
Good luck, Kat! We look forward to watching you grow as a kick ass strong athlete!
