    Share your goals, needs, preferred coach, and program, and we’ll let you know if you make the team. There is a $5 fee, which directly supports our scholarship fund.

  • Get Onboarded

    Complete the onboarding process, including a step-by-step guide, a private consult with your coach, and metabolic testing for personalized training and fueling zones.

FAQ’s

How long do the programs last?

We require a minimum 6-month commitment, though 12 months is ideal for meaningful progress in your fitness, mindset, and goals. Many athletes start with 6 months and stay for years!

If you need a custom timeframe between 6-12 months (e.g., training for a 70.3 in 9 months), we can tailor your program accordingly. We also provide recommendations on optimal training time based on your event and sport history.

Once your application is accepted, we’ll adjust your program to best support your goals.

What if I do several endurance sports?

We have many athletes who start off with a goal of doing a triathlon, but also want to do well in running or cycling-specific races. The same exercise physiology principles apply, and our coaches are well versed in everything from Ironman to gravel racing to off road triathlon to ultras.

What if I get injured or something unexpected happens?

It depends on the injury. We can adjust your training to focus on other activities, like gym workouts, swimming, or cycling, while you recover. If running isn’t an option, we’ll find a way to keep you moving!

If you prefer to pause your training, we offer a hold plan for $25/month, which reserves your spot, maintains your Training Peaks Premium account, and keeps you connected to our supportive community and exclusive discounts until you’re ready to return.

What if I want to switch coaches?

We understand that sometimes a different coaching style or expertise may be a better fit for your goals or personality. No problem—just let us know, and we’ll make the switch!

What if I need to cancel my plan?

While it’s uncommon, if you do need to cancel, a one-month fee will be applied as your cancellation charge.

If I go to a group workout, do I have to pay a fee?

No, we cover the cost of the coach, lane/gym/facility rental, insurance, and software fees and you just show up and workout!

Is coaching only for elite athletes? I’m not getting paid for this—Is it worth it?

Coaching isn’t just for pros! We work exclusively with athletes who aren’t paid to compete. This is your chance to invest in your health, get expert guidance to reach your goals, and discover what you’re truly capable of. No matter your skill or fitness level, you’re worth it.

The Endurance Edge is an amazing resource for anyone interested in increasing their endurance sport performance; whether swimming, cycling, running, or combining in a full fledged triathlon. From nutritional guidance, physiologic data, or personalized coaching, it’s available. Even as an amateur athlete, I was able to get valuable training/physiologic data through the metabolic testing performed by Chris Newport. And no matter how my training season went, the coaching I received from Marty Owens was flexible and responsive to my training needs.

It’s been great to have someone to ask all of my questions to and get answers that are specific to my situation. With so many things, it depends – but having a person who knows your exact fitness level and work capacity is amazing. You can get very specific answers to your questions.

And this is great and all, but it also produces results. I’ve made much more progress in the past 6 months than I’ve made in several years. I would learn about something I should be doing, try it for a while, then have doubts and questions – is it supposed to feel this hard? am I going too easy? should I be doing more volume? am I overtraining? It’s been great to have someone with more experience look at my workouts and tell me when to back off and when to go for it.

And lastly, everyone here is super friendly and easy to deal with. It’s an extremely positive group of people and I’m thrilled that it’s worked out so well. Highly recommend!
